The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has launched a free online course entitled “Corporate Governance and Anti-Corruption Compliance in Municipal Enterprises”, which attracted almost 2,000 participants from all over Ukraine in the first three months after its launch.

The course is delivered on the EBRD’s Impact Academy platform in Ukrainian. It aims to develop practical skills for implementing anti-corruption mechanisms within municipal enterprises’ corporate governance systems.

The initiative is in line with the EBRD’s strategic priorities of:

  • strengthening corporate governance,
  • fighting corruption,
  • and establishing the rule of law as the basis for sustainable development and recovery.

Practical focus and target audience

The training program is aimed at:

  • managers of public utilities,
  • members of supervisory and advisory boards,
  • anti-corruption officers,
  • compliance specialists,
  • representatives of local government,
  • and anyone involved in improving transparency and accountability in the public sector.

The course helps integrate anti-corruption approaches into the corporate governance system, includes practical examples, and offers flexible learning with the option to obtain a certificate upon completion.

Partnership and contribution of CGPA

The project is implemented with the support of the Ukraine Multi-Donor Account and the TaiwanBusiness–EBRD TC Fund in partnership with the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, the Corporate Governance Professional Association (CGPA), and in cooperation with the National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP)GPA.

The course materials were developed using CGPAC’s expertise and experience in corporate governance and anti-corruption compliance. The high number of participants in a short period of time confirms the significant demand for systematic, practical tools for good governance in the public sector.
