23.04.2024With the support of EBRD, 100 representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure were trained at CGPA

On April 15-19, 2024, the Corporate Governance Professional Association (CGPA), together with the Ministry of Communities, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine (Mininfrastructure), held the fourth training program for anti-corruption officers.

The participants of the Anti-Corruption Compliance Training Program for Officers Responsible for Implementing the Anti-Corruption Program and Compliance Officers were specialists, professionals, and those who are just starting their steps in the field of anti-corruption compliance, internal control and audit in Ukrainian state-owned companies and institutions. Among them were representatives of Ukrposhta, Ukrzaliznytsia, the State Service of Ukraine for Transport Safety, the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine, the National Bureau of Investigation on Transport, several village, town and city councils, Zhytomyr Tram and Trolleybus Department, etc.

The speakers of the program shared their achievements, experience and expertise, namely Oleksandr Okuniev, Chairman of the CGPA Board of Directors, Olga Shenk, Partner of Dispute Resolution and Compliance Practice at CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang in Ukraine, Pavlo Verkhnyatskyi, Founder and CEO of COSA, Oleg Lagodiyenko, Director of Ethicontrol, Anna Fedorenko, UNDP Ukraine National Consultant on strengthening coordination of anti-corruption commissioners to increase transparency and accountability of the recovery process in Ukraine, Oleh Polishchuk, Board Member of the National Association of Anti-Corruption Compliance, Kateryna Lysova, Eurasia Program Manager at the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), Kateryna Datsko, Executive Director, and Olena Karpova, expert at the NGO “Foundation for Institutional Development”, Mykhailo Koltsov, Training and Development Manager at YouControl, as well as representatives of the National Agency for the Corruption Prevention (NACP).

The program participants successfully completed the training, passed the test and defended their group work. The participants highly appreciated the knowledge and experience of the program’s teachers and organizers, the efficiency and practicality of the program, and their willingness to continue their studies in the future, as they noted in their feedback:

A very comprehensive and professionally designed program that is able to form systemic knowledge. “The Program is very relevant. Competent approach, all lecturers are professionals in their field. There is something to work on and improve in the area of anti-corruption policy,” Natalia Lebedieva, Head of the Department of Culture and Sports of the Genichesk City Council of Genichesk District, Kherson Region.

Congratulating the participants on the successful completion of the training, Program Leader Oleksandr Okuniev wished them success in their future work and said: “Over the course of four programs, we have trained 100 representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure. And I never tire of repeating that the main exam awaits you directly in the field, when you will apply the acquired knowledge in your work. We stay in touch and are ready to continue supporting you in the field of anti-corruption compliance.”

This was the final program in a series of programs implemented with the support of the EBRD Ukraine Stabilisation and Sustainable Growth Multi-Donor Account (Austria, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union, the largest donor).
