11.06.2026Building a Successful Company in Times of Uncertainty: Peter Zashev Holds a Masterclass for Ukrainian Business Owners and Top Executives

10 June 2026 The Ukrainian Corporate Governance Institute (UCGI), in partnership with the Corporate Governance Professional Association (CGPA), hosted a masterclass by Professor of Practice at the Hanken School of Economics in Riga Peter Zasheventitled ‘Success in Uncertain Times: The Architecture and Functioning of a Resilient Organisation’. For many participants, Peter was already a well-known figure from the ‘Corporate Director’ Program. And this is likely why the hall filled up so quickly: interest in his approaches, ideas and practical experience has only grown over the years.

Today, Ukrainian business operates in an environment where war, technological change, staff shortages, new regulatory requirements and global competition create an unprecedented level of uncertainty. That is precisely why the main theme of the masterclass was the question: how to build an organisation capable not only of surviving amidst constant change, but also of using it for development.

During the masterclass, Peter Zashev invited participants to seek answers to three fundamental questions:

  • How can one build a successful company in an environment of uncertainty and constant change?
  • Why is it so difficult for people and organisations to change?
  • How can an effective board of directors influence the company’s development and support transformation?

To tailor the program as closely as possible to the audience’s needs, participants completed a special survey prior to the event. The results showed that today’s executives are most concerned with issues of strategic development, business scaling, change management, talent development and building strong management teams.

Peter Zashev placed particular emphasis on the role of leadership in modern organisations. In his view, successful organisations of the future must combine strong management with strong leadership, foster a culture of experimentation, develop adaptability, work with future scenarios, and build trust within teams.

As always, Peter Zashev combined in-depth management expertise, practical case studies, active engagement with the audience and subtle humour, creating an atmosphere of lively professional discussion. Participants worked in groups, analysed their own management challenges and sought solutions for their companies. This format allowed them not only to discuss modern approaches to management and organisational development, but also to adapt them to their own professional context.

The event was attended by business owners, CEOs, board members and top managers from leading Ukrainian companies, including: Nova Post Global, Moneyveo, Biosphere, TASCOMBANK, UPG, Smart Medical Center, AMIC Ukraine, MTI Group, LIKA COMFORT, KLR Holding and others.

Participants highly rated the masterclass, noting its practical focus, the relevance of the topic and the opportunity to acquire new tools for their work. In their feedback, participants most frequently highlighted the value of the modules dedicated to organisational resilience, change management, the role of leadership and the board of directors.

What is particularly valuable is that participants not only gained new ideas but also identified specific approaches and tools for themselves, which they plan to apply in their companies and professional activities.

After the masterclass concluded, Peter Zashev shared his impressions of working with the Ukrainian audience:

“I delivered a dynamic and highly energetic masterclass to a wonderful group of Ukrainian top managers and business owners. We discussed, learned and laughed a lot. I am 100% convinced: Ukrainian companies have incredible energy and ambition. With a more strategic approach to leadership and better corporate governance, a very bright future awaits them.”

For UCGI and CGPA, hosting such masterclasses is part of a systematic effort to develop modern corporate governance in Ukraine. We are convinced that high-quality leadership, effective boards of directors and the ability of organisations to adapt quickly to change will be key factors in the success of Ukrainian business in the coming years.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Peter Zashev for his in-depth expertise, practical experience, openness and inspiration, and to all participants for their active involvement, meaningful discussions and willingness to seek new solutions for the development of their companies.
