13.01.2023Workshops for non-governmental organizations
The Corporate Governance Professional Association (CGPA) invites representatives of public, non-profit organizations, especially volunteer and charitable organizations engaged in attracting donor assistance, to participate in a series of workshops on building trusting relationships with donors. The main emphasis will be made on building and strengthening trust in Ukraine’s public volunteer and charitable sector by introducing sustainable transparency and accountability.
The event is supported by the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE).
NGOs become institutionally stable and develop sustainably by implementing elements of anti-corruption compliance, good corporate governance, and sustainable and transparent financial systems. Establishing constructive cooperation with public authorities, particularly the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPC) and other institutions, helps to develop trust in NGOs and public authorities.
Workshops will include the following topics:
- Corporate governance in non-profit organizations: what exactly does it mean; why is it needed and how to ensure it? (definition and elements of corporate governance; who needs corporate governance and why; what are the “best corporate governance standards”; governing bodies of a non-profit organization, their structure, interaction, organization of work)
- Finances, transparency, and reporting of non-governmental organizations as a guarantee of trust in them (legal and tax requirements that must be met by a non-governmental organization in cooperation with donors and benefactors; procedures recommended to be performed before concluding an agreement with a donor and benefactor; cooperation with crowdfunding platforms and businesses (non-residents and non-residents); humanitarian aid: nuances of legislation and reporting rules; financial and management reporting, what is the difference and reporting rules; disclosure of financial and management reports; disclosure of financial and management reports).
- Anti-corruption compliance as a major challenge for modern non-profit organizations in Ukraine.
- Workshop “How to check a non-profit organization for integrity: useful experience and advice”.

Participation in the events is free of charge upon prior registration and selection of participants.
Registration is open until January 22, 2023. The results will be communicated to the selected participants on January 24, 2023, by 15:00.
