03.08.2023Succession planning of the Board of the National Registry of Corporate Directors

The National Registry of Corporate Directors was established by the CGPA in 2017. But even now, in difficult times for the country, the Registry is a project that contributes to corporate governance reform in Ukrainian public and private sector companies. The primary mission of the Registry is to provide publicly available information about professional board members recommended by the CGPA for election to the supervisory boards of Ukrainian and international companies. Over this period, the Registry has become an essential tool for increasing transparency and efficiency of management, as well as implementing the best international corporate governance practices.

At its regular meeting, the CGPA Board of Directors decided to gradually rotate the composition of the Board of the National Registry of Corporate Directors. Oleksandr Okuniev, Chairman of the CGPA Board of Directors, commented on this decision:

“The current members of the Registry Board, who have been working as volunteers for almost six years, are very effective; it is the Registry Board that has become a reliable filter that helps to select the best of the best. They have chosen the people who make up the Registry, which we are proud of today. However, everything needs to be updated, and the members of the Registry Board themselves initiated the rotation process. We are working on a succession plan to ensure that new, qualified and independent professionals are brought on board while maintaining the credibility and effectiveness achieved by the current Board.

The CGPA Board of Directors has decided to remove Mark Ivashko, member of the Supervisory Board of Miratech, co-founder and managing partner of Diligent Capital Partners, from the Board of the National Registry of Corporate Directors, based on the application submitted. This is the first step in the process of rotation of the Registry’s Board members. I am very grateful to Mark for his work on the Board – he helped us formulate the standards of professional requirements for applicants and was impartial, fair and highly professional in all our decisions. I learnt a lot from him. We have completed our cooperation on this project, but I will be happy to work with Mark in the future. I am convinced that we will have such an opportunity again.”
