
Natalia Shevchenko is an expert in corporate governance, capital markets and financial law with more than 15 years of professional experience.
She currently serves as Head of the Banking & Finance and Corporate Governance Legal Practice and as a Senior Lawyer in the Tax & Law Department at EY Ukraine. In this role, she leads projects in corporate governance, capital markets and the financial sector.
Natalia has extensive experience in delivering complex transformation projects, including supervisory board effectiveness assessments, notably for NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine; the implementation of corporate governance and internal control systems; and the development of remuneration policies in accordance with the requirements of the National Bank of Ukraine. She has also contributed to technical assistance projects aimed at aligning Ukrainian legislation with EU standards and developing Ukraine’s capital market infrastructure.
Previously, Natalia served as Head of Methodology and Corporate Relations at PJSC National Depository of Ukraine, where she also performed the functions of Corporate Secretary. She has practical experience in introducing corporate governance innovations, including remote and electronic general meetings of shareholders, the development of a supervisory board portal, the introduction of new financial instruments and the enhancement of the country’s depository infrastructure.
She contributed to the development of key legislative reforms governing Ukraine’s capital markets, including the Laws of Ukraine On Joint Stock Companies, On the Depository System of Ukraine, and On Capital Markets and Organized Commodity Markets.
Natalia has also worked as a Corporate Secretary in financial market infrastructure institutions and the banking sector. Her experience includes implementing corporate governance standards in accordance with the requirements of the National Bank of Ukraine and the CPMI–IOSCO Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures.
