05.08.2024Members of the Board of the National Registry of Corporate Directors have been updated

The National Registry of Corporate Directors, established by the Corporate Governance Professional Association (CGPA) in 2017, contributes to corporate governance reform in Ukrainian companies. The Registry’s mission is to provide information on professional corporate directors for election to the supervisory boards of Ukrainian and international companies. The Registry increases transparency and efficiency of governance by implementing the best international practices.

The CGPA Board of Directors decided to gradually renew the composition of the Registry Board. Oleksandr Okuniev, Chairman of the CGPA Board of Directors, noted that the current members of the Board effectively selected the best candidates, but given that some of the Board members have been selecting members of the National Registry of Corporate Directors on a voluntary basis for more than five years, it became necessary to update and rotate them. The succession plan will ensure that new, qualified professionals are attracted, while maintaining the credibility and effectiveness of the Board.

At a regular meeting, the CGPA Board of Directors excluded Yaroslav Kinakh, President of Iskander Energy Corporation, from the Board on the basis of a submitted application, thanking him for his significant contribution to the development of standards and decision-making. Oleksandr Okuniev noted that Mr. Kinakh has been a member of the Registry’s Board since its inception. He emphasised that J. Kinach’s professionalism and impartiality were important for the success of the project and expressed his gratitude for his work and hope for continued cooperation.

At the same time, the CGPA Board of Directors decided to include Iryna Starodubova, ex-partner of Horizon Capital, and Anna Derevyanko, Executive Director of the European Business Association, to the Registry Board.

Iryna Starodubova participated in the closing of 18 M&A transactions as a strategic and financial investor in various sectors of the economy of Ukraine and Moldova. Iryna Starodubova contributed to the organization and implementation of good corporate governance systems in twenty companies at the level of a member of the Supervisory Board and top management. In 2003, she was ranked among the top 20 best crisis managers in Ukraine. Today, I. Starodubova is an independent member of the Supervisory Board of Comfy and other leading Ukrainian companies. She was included in the National Registry of Corporate Directors in 2017. When deciding to join the Registry’s Board, Iryna noted: “I am pleased to join CGPA initiatives and grateful for the trust in me and my experience. I hope to be useful and contribute to the coordinated work of the Registry Board in selecting the best corporate directors recommended by the professional community for appointment to the supervisory boards of Ukrainian private and state-owned companies.”

Anna Derevyanko, Executive Director of the European Business Association. She has held the position since 2003. The EBA is one of the largest business communities in the country. Under her leadership, the Association has grown almost four times and united about 900 businesses operating in Ukraine and creating more than 2 million jobs in Ukraine. Anna is a member of the Supervisory Boards of a number of organizations, including: Raiffeisen Bank Aval JSC, UkraineInvest, the government office for attracting and supporting investments, and the Children of Heroes Charitable Foundation. She is also an Honorary Member of Women on Boards, a member of the GLOBSEC Ukraine Support Council, and a member of the Norwegian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce. At the same time, Anna is a co-founder of the Global Business for Ukraine Association, an organization that aims to unite international business around Ukraine, strengthen trade and economic ties, help find partners in Ukraine and provide information to potential investors. Joining the initiative, Anna noted that “the implementation of best practices of good corporate governance and selection of members of supervisory boards of Ukrainian enterprises contributes to the openness and transparency of Ukrainian business and attracts funding for the restoration of Ukraine.”

We are pleased to announce that the National Registry of Corporate Directors continues to operate actively and accepts new applications from all interested parties.
