On 30 October, the Ministry for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development, together with the State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development, with the support of the United Nations Development Programme and funding from the Government of Japan, presented the results of an analysis of anti-corruption work and the level of professional competence of anti-corruption commissioners of the recovery services. From August to October, the Ministry and Agency team, with the support of the United Nations Development Programme, assessed the state of anti-corruption work in the recovery services, the results of which were presented at the event.
A special part of the event was devoted to the exchange of experience between the representatives of business, recovery services and the Ministry’s administration, which representatives of the UN Global Compact, CGPA and UNIC joined.
Natalia Lysa, CGPA Board Member and speaker of the CGPA training program for authorised persons responsible for implementing the anti-corruption program, shared her many years of experience in the field of compliance. In particular, Natalia noted:
“Anti-corruption authorised persons or compliance officers build an organisation’s integrity culture. This culture should be built on a solid foundation consisting of trust in the person of the authorised person, respect for all participants in the process, confidentiality, effective communication and dialogue, inevitability of punishment and zero tolerance for corruption. Our image as authorised persons depends on our honesty, professionalism and responsibility. We must earn the trust of our colleagues, management and the entire organisation. Only then we can successfully fight corruption and promote an honest and ethical working environment.”
In October, the Ministry presented its Anti-Corruption Program until 2025. The program includes the main principles of improving anti-corruption work in the Ministry and industries, 50 corruption risks and measures to minimise them. The CGPA, in turn, assists the Ministry in improving the skills of the Ministry’s employees and subordinate enterprises.
