By the decision of the CGPA Management Board Olyana Gordiyenko, Associate Director of Governance, EBRD, became the member of the Registry Advisory Board of the National Registry of Corporate Directors.

Olyana’s background includes 15 years of experience as a corporate/M&А lawyer with the international law firm Baker&McKenzie. In her capacity of Baker&McKenzie partner, Olyana was advising local Ukrainian and international clients on M&A transactions, including English law governed cross-border deals and private equity transactions. Olyana also specialized in joint ventures and reorganizations and provided sound counsel on general corporate matters to blue chip companies, including state-owned enterprises in Ukraine.

In September 2016 Olyana has been appointed by the President of Ukraine as the first female Commissioner with the National Securities and Stock Market Commission. As the Commissioner, Olyana was leading the policy dialog vis-vis issuers of securities, including discussions around the principles of the corporate governance for joint-stock companies, registration of securities issuances, and public enforcement in these areas.

Olyana continued to be involved in the reform of the corporate governance of the SOEs, contributed to the reform of the corporate governance in the banking sector and was the main driver behind recent corporate law developments in Ukraine, including implementation of Take Over Bid EU Directive.
