Oleksandr Okuniev, Chairman of the Management Board of the Ukrainian Corporate Governance Professional Association. He is a known expert in the field of corporate governance and corporate law in Ukraine. Oleksandr has many years of experience consulting projects as a part of the consultant team of the International Finance Corporation in Ukraine (1996-2001), International Institute of Business (2001-2012) and the Ukrainian Corporate Governance Institute (since 2012). He is a member of the Expert Council on Corporate Governance of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission of Ukraine. Oleksandr is a co-author of the first Ukrainian manual on corporate governance (1999) and the Handbook of International Corporate Governance (edited by the British Institute of Directors, London, 2005 ); author of the handbook "Corporate governance in the private and family companies " (2012) and over 60 publications on corporate law and governance. |

Elena Voloshina, the Head of IFC’s operations in Ukraine. Ms. Voloshina coordinates the work performed by IFC in Ukraine. She carries out investment promotion as well as work on certain investment projects. She is also actively involved in the work of advisory donor-funded programs that IFC is implementing across Ukraine. Prior to her appointment in December 1996, Ms. Voloshina occupied the position of Deputy Project Manager and then Project Manager for IFC’s Small-Scale Privatization Project (1994 - 1996) supervising the work of consultants on small-scale privatization in 18 cities of Ukraine and coordinating IFC relations with the Ukrainian Government at all levels. Ms. Voloshina began her career with IFC in 1992 when IFC first launched its operation in Ukraine. During her tenure at IFC up to present, Ms. Voloshina has served a number of various positions which enabled her to acquire extensive experience in consulting on a wide range of privatization and investment related issues. |

Iaroslav Gregirchak. Deputy Business Ombudsman. He is a seasoned lawyer with more than 15 years of practical experience in cross-border corporate finance, secured transactions as well as in international arbitration and administrative law. At the Business Ombudsman Council Iaroslav leads the team of 6 investigators. He authored BOC’s systemic reports on 5 topics devoted to the following challenges with the quality of business environment in Ukraine: administering taxes, abuse of powers by law enforcement authorities, competition law and policy, getting access to electricity and fighting raidership. In 2004-2010 Iaroslav occupied leading positions with international law firms Chadbourne & Parke and Gide Loyrette Nouel. Besides, he possesses significant commercial law reform experience gained with the World Bank and USAID as the expert in such fields as secured transactions (in Ukraine and in Azerbaijan) as well as public finance with emphasis on sub-national borrowings and debt. In particular, in course of 2002-03 Iaroslav was part of the team of experts hired by the World Bank which drafted the text of the Law of Ukraine “On Securing Creditor’s Claims and Registration of Encumbrances”. In 1996 Iaroslav graduated from the Faculty of Law of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University. In 2002, he received Master of Laws (LL.M) degree from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. He graduated from Kharkiv National University of Economics (MSc) and National Technical University of Ukraine «Kyiv Polytechnic Institute». He worked at various positions in the State Commission on Securities and Stock Market, and since 2011, he was a Member of the National Commission on Securities and Stock Market. He has 15 years of experience in corporate governance, both in state-owned companies (Kyivenergo) and in large private industrial and financial holdings - DCH group (formerly Ukrsibbank) and Donetsksteel. Boris Janjalia (Georgia), Senior Specialist in Corporate Governance, IFC Environment, Social and Governance. He has been working with IFC since 2007, advising banks and companies in Europe and Central Asia, and Africa on corporate governance, and assisting them in promoting, regulating and implementing their corporate governance practices. Before joining IFC, Boris worked as a Head of the Legal Department at Financial Monitoring Service of the National Bank of Georgia. Boris has LL.M in International Commercial Law from University of Aberdeen and LL.B from Tbilisi State University. Alexey Volynets is a Corporate Governance Officer in the Environment, Social and Governance Department of IFC (International Finance Corporation), part of the World Bank Group. He works at the IFC Corporate Governance Program’s global headquarters in Washington, D.C., and specializes in design and delivery of capacity-building products and programs. Specifically, he oversees the thematic programs Managing Corporate Governance Disputes, Governance of Small and Medium Enterprises, and Corporate Governance Media Program (training journalists to properly understand and cover corporate governance issues). In this capacity, he coordinates development of training programs, materials, and publications and works closely with IFC regional corporate governance programs to guide their local rollout and adaptation. Alexey has a degree in electromechanical engineering from Saint-Petersburg Mining University (Russia) and a degree in media management from the University of Missouri-Columbia (United States). He also received training and coaching as an adult trainer from the Center for Effective Dispute Resolution in London, United Kingdom. |
