The Ukrainian Corporate Governance Institute, with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), has launched a pilot project titled “Test Drive of Advisory Boards for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs)”.

The initiative aims to improve the quality of corporate governance and the investment attractiveness of Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises by introducing advisory boards as a tool for strategic development, strengthening management practices, and supporting business owners in making strategic decisions.

The project involves working with the owners of 10 Ukrainian small and medium-sized enterprises, who will follow a step-by-step process from a training module through individual consultations to the practical establishment and launch of advisory boards. The project implementation includes a joint training module on corporate governance, an assessment of each company’s management and strategic needs, the development of a tailored approach to collaboration, and support for the establishment and initial phase of advisory boards with the participation of independent members selected by the Institute. The project’s results will yield practical experience in implementing advisory boards in the SME sector, which can serve as a foundation for the further expansion of this tool in Ukraine.
