On July 7, the Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law on Joint Stock Companies (No. 2493) – hereinafter the Law. The final text of the Law is not yet available, but according to the text of the document submitted for the second hearing, the status of the corporate secretary is regulated, and it turns out that the introduction of the position of corporate secretary on January 1, 2023, will be mandatory for

a) joint stock companies (JSCs) in which securities are admitted to trading on the organized capital market or in respect of which securities a public offer has been made;
b) banks, insurance companies, non-state pension funds, and other JSCs that are enterprises of public interest;
в) PJSC with the number of shareholders – owners of ordinary shares 100 and more persons.
