In December 2024, the Ukrainian Corporate Governance Institute implemented a professional development program for members of the Supervisory Board, managers, and key employees of JOINT STOCK COMPANY “COMINBANK.” The program “Effective Operation of the Bank’s Governing Bodies” has become an important stage in improving the participants’ skills in corporate governance and preparing for new challenges of the company’s development.
The participants had the opportunity to work with leading industry experts who shared their relevant knowledge, best practices, and real-life cases. Vitaliy Lishchuk, CFO of the National Information Systems State Enterprise, Head of the NBU Unit (2015-2019), revealed the role of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), the system of internal control and risk management. Oleksandr Okuniev, Chairman of the CGPA Board of Directors, explained the main tasks of the Board, the types of its structures, and its interaction with executive bodies. He also spoke about the planning of meetings, the functioning of the Board’s committees, and the role of the corporate secretary. Olyana Gordiyenko, Corporate Governance Director of ICU Group and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of PJSC Ukreximbank (2019-2023) presented cases of a large state-owned bank on the interaction of the executive body with key services. Dmytro Sergiyenko, Director of the Audit Department of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC and member of the Audit, Risk, and Ethics Committee of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, described in detail the organization of the internal audit service. The final module, conducted by Oleksandr Okuniev, was devoted to the Board’s self-assessment, organization of assessment processes, and use of its results to improve the work of governing bodies.
This program was an important step in developing corporate governance for COMINBANK. Deepening the knowledge of the participants and mastering modern approaches allow the company to move confidently towards improving its management systems, which is critical for sustainable development in the face of modern challenges.
Participants completed the training with certificates and expressed interest in further cooperation with experts from CGPA and the Ukrainian Corporate Governance Institute.
