
On June 28, CGPA together with the NSSMC and IFC held an online discussion of the requirements for the corporate secretary of a joint-stock company. The event was attended by 220 representatives of Ukrainian companies.
CGPA Board of Directors member Oleksandr Okuniev, NSSMC member Maksym Libanov and Director of the Department for Supervision of Corporate Governance and Corporate Finance of the NSSMC Viktor Zhupanenko answered questions sent to the event by registered participants and questions written in the chat.
In particular, the participants’ questions concerned the location of the corporate secretary, documentary evidence of the special knowledge/skills of the CS, verification of documents from the candidate for the position of CS, who should perform the duties of the CS in his/her absence, whether one person can be the CS in the parent company and in a subsidiary of this parent company, and many others.
Following the event, all questions that could not be answered during the webinar and constructive suggestions were sent to our partners at the NSSMC. All comments will be considered when amending the draft document at a meeting of the Issuer Functioning and Corporate Governance Committee.
