On October 25, 2018, Oleksandr Okuniev<\/strong>, Chairman of the CGPA Management Board, took part as an expert in the discussion on the concept of the development of corporate legislation and corporate governance in Ukraine<\/strong><\/em>, organized by the Ukrainian Bar Association.<\/p>\n

The main purpose of the discussion was to prepare the thesis for approval of the concept of development of corporate legislation in Ukraine. For a full understanding of the issues, the participants began discussions from the basics \u2013 the history of the development of Ukrainian corporate legislation and the implementation of the legislation of the European Union. They shared ideas on what changes the Ukrainian corporate law needs and how effectively to implement them. They talked about the reform of JSC and LLC, as well as on the technology of preparing regulations.<\/p>\n

In addition to O.\u00a0Okuniev, there were other panelists: Anna Vronska, a judge of the Court of Cassation of the Supreme Court, Olyana Gordiyenko, Director on Governance of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Natalia Kuznetsova, professor of the Department of Civil Law, Faculty of Law, Kyiv National University. T.Shevchenko, Maxim Libanov, Member of the National Commission for Securities and Stock Market, Sergiy Petukhov, Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine for European Integration, Yuri Popov, an expert in corporate law.<\/p>\n

Participants and guests agreed that the Commercial Code was not relevant and agreed to unite and work on legislative initiatives for its abolition, as well as to improve the legal framework within the framework of corporate law reform.<\/p>\n
