press conference<\/a>, CGPA announced the launch of the project “National Register of Corporate Directors\u00bb, which is to streamline, simplify and clarify the selection process and appointments to the supervisory boards of JSCs in Ukraine.<\/p>\nThis is only the part of the potential work with corporate directors, which CGPA plans to develop. CGPA plans to offer training programs for members of supervisory boards, orientation sessions, to develop Code of Ethics for Corporate Directors and other activities.<\/p>\n
CGPA got the support of the state executive bodies and international organizations for realization the tasks of the project activities. In particular, it got the support for the project of improving the professional level of corporate directors in Ukraine from the British Embassy in Ukraine<\/strong>, International Finance Corporation (IFC)<\/strong> and the Centre for International Private Enterprise (\u0421\u0406\u0420\u0415)<\/strong>.<\/p>\nCGPA is a non-governmental organization established in 2009 and unites professionals in corporate governance in Ukraine. Since its establishment, CGPA in cooperation with Ukrainian Institute of Corporate Governance developed a huge amount of learning materials, implemented a number of training programs and conducted a series of professional events for corporate directors.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

Reform of corporate governance, which is currently being implemented in Ukraine, is introduction of independent directors in the supervisory boards of banks and companies in the real sector. New legislation includes establishing of the committees of audit, nomination and remuneration and other innovation activities of supervisory boards. The novel legislation makes the basis for the introducing the persons, who professionally fulfil the function of independent members of the supervisory boards of joint stock companies in Ukraine.<\/p>\n
