On March 30, 2021,<\/strong> Ukraine\u2019s Corporate\u00a0Governance\u00a0Professional\u00a0Association (CGPA) in cooperation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC)<\/strong> held a training for trainers and consultants who advise companies on corporate governance issues.<\/p>\n

The training \u201cCommitment to Corporate Governance and Board of Directors\u201d<\/strong> was conducted by Oleg Zhuravlov<\/strong>, Advisor to the Chairman of the CGPA Management Board, Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of JSC \u00abUkrainian Railways\u00bb, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Insurance Company \u00abKrona\u00bb, and Advisor to the Minister of Infrastructure of Ukraine.<\/em><\/p>\n

Among the participants were representatives from Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, the Kyrgyz Republic, Serbia etc.<\/p>\n

The goal of the training was to build the capacity of the participants to promote and advise on Corporate Governance Standards, focusing on good corporate governance practices, effective Board of Directors\u2019 activities, and organization. The aim is to clarify the main elements of a company\u2019s good corporate governance system, the role of the Board of Directors, and the Corporate (Company) Secretary.<\/p>\n

The event was held in cooperation with IFC\u2019s Integrated Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Standards Program in Europe and Central Asia, which is implemented in partnership with the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO. The program aims to create conditions for companies\u2019 more sustainable development, optimize their management, and better access to capital that will stimulate economic growth and job creation. The program organizes a series of sessions designed for new and old partners who want to refresh their knowledge on corporate governance basics of the IFC CG Methodology.<\/p>\n
